Reconnected and Grounded - November 7, 2014
Every other Wednesday is a sacred time for me because I get the opportunity to visit with two very dear and close friends who live in scenic country settings. Being in nature is very soothing to my soul, and I always look forward to this revered time to be with my inner circle.
As I was driving to meet them this morning, I came to the sudden realization that the last few days have been packed so full of activity, I had not taken or created any opportunities to stay present to the moment. Consequently, I felt wound tight and tired. It was difficult to fathom that only three weeks ago, I was very relaxed at the cabin and now felt strained and exhausted.
With the warm sun beaming through the window, the drive became very peaceful, and I found myself starting to relax. My first thought was, “I need to get grounded, and spending my time in the country with good friends is just the remedy.” And it helped. I returned home less harassed and prepared to be more fully present to the moment. I’m glad I had this chance to notice how disconnected I had become and to remember how I have chosen to experience my days.
So I’m curious, what is your remedy to get reconnected and grounded?
